Squatch Roofing re-roofed a garden shed in Snohomish, WA 98290 in May 2026 with CertainTeed Landmark shingles in Georgetown Gray. Before the work started, the homeowner had a pergola taken off one side of the shed and found the wood where it had been attached was soft enough to push through. The crew replaced the rotted trim on that side with a new eave board, laid RoofRunner underlayment and a black membrane along the edges, and shingled the roof. The shed was looked at on April 10, and the work was done on May 4 and May 8.

What Prompted the Project
The April 10 photos show a small light green shed with a gable roof of reddish brown shingles, and a pergola with a metal roof built against one side. Squatch quoted a new CertainTeed Landmark roof for the shed in Georgetown Gray.
Before the crew arrived, the homeowner had the pergola removed and sent Squatch a message with a photo: the area where the pergola had been attached was in bad shape, they could push through it, and they asked whether it could be splinted. That turned the job into a re-roof plus a fix at that edge.
Why a Re-Roof on a Shed
The quote was for a complete new roof on the shed, not a patch. With the old roofing off, the rotted trim on the pergola side could be replaced before the underlayment went on, in the same visit. The job file records it as a repair job, and it is documented that way here, but the work is a complete new roof on the shed.
How the Project Went
May 4: by the first photos of the day, the old shingles were off and the shed was down to its plywood deck. On the side where the pergola had been, the old painted trim came off with rotted, broken ends, and a new unpainted eave board went up under the deck edge. By the afternoon RoofRunner underlayment covered the whole roof.
May 8: the crew ran a black membrane along the eaves, the rakes, and over the ridge, then shingled both slopes in Georgetown Gray and capped the ridge. The finished photos show the shed from several sides.

The Finished Shed
The shed now has a Georgetown Gray Landmark roof over RoofRunner, with the membrane along every edge and a capped ridge. The new eave board on the old pergola side was left unpainted in the completion photos.

What This Shed Roof Cost
Project investment range: $2,500 to $4,000. This range reflects the scope of this completed project and is not a current quote. It is anchored on the final invoice total, which includes Washington sales tax.
The roof is small, so the price is mostly the shingle system itself: tear-off, RoofRunner, membrane at the edges, Landmark shingles, and ridge cap. The trim replacement on the pergola side was part of the same visit, and the invoice carries a single line for the shed roof.
What Homeowners With Similar Outbuildings Should Know
Attached structures hide the wood behind them. The soft trim on this shed only showed up once the pergola came off. If something has been fastened to a shed or garage wall for years, check that wood before the roof goes on.
A shed gets the same layers as a house. This one got the same RoofRunner underlayment, edge membrane, and CertainTeed shingles we use on homes.
